7/18 10:00 pm FC 12.5, CC 0, CYA 30; 7/19 6:44am FC 11.5, CC 0, CYA 30. Still brushing algae dust in the morning.
7/19 10:30 pm FC 14, CC 0 (didn’t do CYA); 7/20 6:30am FC 13.5, CC .5, CYA appears to be less than 30… I could see the dot. Still brushing up algae dust.
I have 50lbs of 3” trichlor tabs. Is that ok to use instead of a granular stabilizer?
I’m trying to have restraint… but am almost ready to add several lbs of Cal Hypo. I’m exhausted! I understand by doing so, I’ll be adding other unwanted chemicals.
And… I had to order R-0871 and I won’t get it until 7/22. I don’t have enough left to test.
There’s nothing that cal hypo can do that liquid chlorine can’t except raise ch & possibly cause cloudiness depending on how much you use. In fact 1 # 73% of cal hypo provides less fc than 1 gallon of 10% liquid chlorine.
You don’t need to test cya every day.
It’s 30- slam level is 12ppm.
Going over just risks damage to your liner & equipment & wastes chlorine.
Keep with the SLAM Process - the dead algae when brushing should get less & less each day.
Keep brush & vacuuming. You can add a little de to the sand filter to help catch the fine stuff. Just make sure you’ll be around to watch the pressure Add DE to a Sand Filter
Looks like you are passing the oclt & cc criteria just waiting on the recurrent dead algae to fully go away. This is the pool owner patience part.
There should be two phillips screws holding the cover on - be sure the suction to the drain is off when removing the cover & while it is removed for safety.
