Needing some quick help, please! Replacing my multiport valve on my DE system. Old one plumed in with PVC glued solvent fittings. Have all new PVC parts, just need to know where to cut, and best way to reconnect using threaded unions…

Welcome to TFP! Did you figure out what to do yet? If not, let us know. To be honest, I've having a hard time seeing everything clearly in that pic. There's a lot of what appears to be black tape or covering and stuff, and I can't make out where the original plumbing connected. Maybe it's just me. Or maybe post a couple more pics from different angles?

I'm going to tag @JamesW for a second opinion. I would think that you're best option would be to remove all that old plumbing going from the pump outlet to the filter then out back to the pool. Start fresh with clean connections, but your old set up had me concerned.

What is going on with all the ugly joints, piping, tape, stuff on the pump basket....? None of it looks solid or secure and it appears to be leaking at every joint. No? How about all the spiders living under there? EEK!
