Multiport Valve on a Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 420 Filter

Has anyone attempted to install a MPV on a pentair clean and clear plus cartridge filter?

My goal is to be able to vacuum to waste or to close of my skimmers and do a partial drain and fill using the main drains.

Any concerns about installing one?

A three way valve before the filter is a better solution.

You should NOT use your pool pump to drain water to below the skimmer. Using a $2000 pump to do the job of a $100 submersible pump is just not wise.

MPV’s are not designed to be used on cartridge filters because if you inadvertently put it into backwash mode you will blow up the filter cartridges. They are not designed to take reverse flow pressure.
