Multiport issues

My Hayward multiport is making a crackling noise and filling the notches on top with water. I replaced the spider gasket but made no difference. Any ideas? I have a short video but no clue how to post it.

Besides the spider gasket, the Vari-Flo also has a few other parts along the handle stem that cuold be the problem (O-ring, spring, etc). See the link HERE for a list of items you might consider replacing in an effort to save the valve.

To build on what @Texas Splash said. Replace parts 3, 8 & 9. That should fix whatever leak you have on the valve stem.

I just went through something similar with my Pentair MPV.
