Hello I know this is an older thread but very similar information. The links are no longer valid and I just purchased a home with a 1985 mr spa, model 505. Looks to be functional other than old owners said needs new pump.
Is there a manual online for this model? Have looked but no luck.
Also how does someone upgrade the control system? Is it worth keeping fixing the pump or buying a new tub?

Thanks for any help!
Olivia

Never joined this group until today, just a lurker (LOL) because I HAVE a Mr. Spa 404 from 1983 AND the Operating Instructions! It mentions the 505 with dimensions and capacity which makes it sound like the internals were all the same.
What pump did they say was bad? The 404 has both a small circ pump connected to the heating system and a full size jet pump. Do the jets work?
That pump is relatively easy to replace once you find the correct pump because the wet end connectors both face the same way.
The circ pump is just a small pump but much harder to find.
I wound up replacing the entire system (I've had it 20 years) and because the space is so limited added a pack outside the confines of the tub and is hidden by a wooden box.
So where to start? If the tub is intact it is probably worth some type of investment.
If you can take pictures of the set up you have, we can see if it is the same and we can move on. At that point I'll be more than happy to scan the manual and get it to you. I just found a pic of the setup from the user manual. Can't attach it here because it is too large. If you can message me your email I'll be glad to send it out.
Hope I can be of help.

BTW, the link from the old thread from another forum is MINE! No longer exists but since I have the original operating instructions...well, can be recreated.
Is there a way to email from one user to another? I couldn't post the picture because it is too large. TIA
