Moved and now my crazy wife wants another’s pool. Port Isabel, Tx

I’ve been a member for quite some time after we built a pool in our last house. As the title describes my wife has decided we need a pool at this house. We own the lot our house is on as well as the lot next to it. We’re on the Laguna Madre and I’m thinking indoor/outdoor kitchen +pool would be pretty slick. So the research has begun.

Any lower RGV people here? Would love to hear some opinions of pool builders down here.

We’ve had a couple of companies come out. I’m not super thrilled with the info I have from either of them and curious to see my other options.

So far I’ve spoken with:
Option 1
- issues I have: not sure his workers are up to the job. Considering I know of two pools he’s building and they both have significant errors...one is his personal pool.
Optoon 2
- issues I have: seems obsessed with paramount accessories like Venturi skimmers, IFCS, yet Doesnt do salt chlorination unless requested. (A tab feeder is included in his builds). Also didn’t see any mention of automation.

Great news, option 3 is the company that built one of the best build threads on this forum in my opinion. The owner is a very nice man who comes highly recommended by many in the area including one forum member.

I was able to meet that forum member in person and lay eyes on his amazing pool/backyard. @martinkennedy if you are still active, thank you again for the opportunity to see your backyard oasis.
We are in the process of raising the lot where the pool will be approx 3 ft so it’s not significantly lower than the lot my house sits on. This “backyard” project may come in stages as it will easily bypass the amount of money I’m comfortable spending in one sitting. It will not be as awesome as Mr Kennedy’s, but it should exceed my previous pool by all standards.
