New pool owner. Bought a house with a pool almost a year ago in Southern California. I hope that someone can give me more insight on what they think the staining could be in my pool? This isn't something new and has been there since we bought the house. The pool is roughly 26 years old, white plaster, with what I assume is a gunnite base. All chemical levels are within the acceptable range, checked weekly, sidewalls and pool bottom brushed weekly, and water is clear. I run Poolrx and the water circulates for roughly 6 hours a day through a DE filter. This summer I have had a problem with Mustard Algae, so I bought some Yellow Treat and shocked the pool this past weekend to hopefully fix that.
Big questions:
1) What do you think the brownish/grey staining is around the pool?
2) What can I do to correct the problem if any?
