More Pool Critters

I found these two guys the other morning. A few hours later, I had to fish third one out (maybe one of the previous two?). I set some water out for them so hopefully they will stay out of the pool. But with 100+ temps, I don't blame them.

I only found expired bunnies in the skimmer. I did not know they could swim. I had good suction at the old place so I guess they were trapped by it.

I wonder where their momma is ? So glad they were alive when u found them!

Looks like southern swamp rabbits. I have baby rabbits in my backyard all the time. Momma bails basically after 2 months when rabbits are sexually mature.

We had several friends over for a BBQ yesterday and just as the sun was setting, a pretty large bat started cruising our pool. He’d fly from one end to the other just over the surface of the water. It was pretty cool to watch. Hope he was eating mosquitos. They sure were eating me last night.

They would not have had a chance expect for the fact I let the water level drop a good bit. I'm on a well which high iron so I don't like adding water and try to rely on rain. There would not have been a ledge for them to stand on if the skimmer was full and working properly.

We get the bats too. They actually skim the surface of the pool to get a sip of water!
