We purchased a house with a pool w/ a missing drain cover. There are 2 drains, 1 with cover, 1 without. House built in 2001(pool installed same time)... I'd like to replace the drain cover but not sure what I need to buy? Suggestions?

D,

If this were my pool, I would take the existing drain cover off and then either buy two new ones the same size, or see if you can find a matching one.

Should be held on by a couple of screws.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Since your pool was built before the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act was signed into law, your old drain covers are, likely, no longer available as they don't meet the specifications. All new covers must. The easiest covers to install are the SDX Retro covers. They come with adapter plates to fit your existing mud-ring and the new cover mounts to it. If you have a suction cleaner, they seem to cause the least issues with them. There are other brands, but these seem to work the best with suction cleaners as retro-fit options.
