3 years have passed since my pool was built and the ladder has erosion where the hand rail is touching the water. So my question is, was the ladder supposed to be installed this way? Should it be above the water instead of in the water?
Fishy, can you post a picture of this ladder/handrail please? Because you are concerned about corrosion, a full set of water test results might be a good idea as well.

This corrosive effect was prior to learning about Trouble free pool, just for the record. When I first discovered it, I used brasso polish and cleaned it up so the erosion wasn't as not as noticeable. Having the hand rail sitting in water makes it worse. My tiles at the water line are having calcium build up as well. So can the rail be raised up out of the water, or is this a bonding issue?
