Recently got a Triton PS from my neighbor for free because it stoped working. Turned out the impeller motor wasn’t working. Rebuilt the motor replacing the motor brushes, bearings and seals. Motor spins now but it appears to be sucking in water from the top of the robot instead of the bottom, so it’s not picking up any leaves. All connections are correct, am I missing something?

When you replaced the black barrel cover that has the two magnets back on the motor, seems like you may have rotated it 180 degrees.
I did the same thing and had the same experience. Opened it back up, rotated it back to proper orientation and that fixed it.
