Max-e-therm: 5Volts only out of fireman’s switch to Jandy controller?

Hi all,

troubleshooting an issue where my max-e-therm won’t turn on via my Jandy controller, I was doing some voltage checks on the two wires coming out of the Max-e-therm and going into the controller and it’s only getting 5v, it’s my understanding that it should be 24v, has anyone seen this before? Perhaps a fuse?

See electrical diagram on pages 30 & 31. No fuse that would give you 5V.

You run through the troubleshooting starting on page 37?

You have to check the voltage from line to ground.

Ya I checked the voltage between the two from common to spa and it’s 5V and and then i checked against ground and it’s also 5V, the buttons are operating still, I’m wondering if I flip the jumper to disable the buttons if it will maybe fix this

I made an assumption here that I was using the fireman’s switch, I just double checked and it’s going direct to the board, I did a check there and it’s only 5V coming from the board direct

You hook up the fireman's switch to the gas heater connection in automation.

The fireman's switch connects to the Green 10-pin Terminal Bar in the Jandy at terminals 1 and 2.

Do you have a picture of the wire connections in the Jandy box?

Ok! I’ll give that a shot instead of this direct to the board hookup
