mastertemp 250 with easytouch

Just replaced pool control with an easytouch PSL4. Old system had heater connected with 3 wire system. I will connect with 2 wire from J19 to mastertemp firemans switch. Question I have is do I need to be concerned about the jumper setting on the operating control board (external control enable/disable)?

I would leave it disabled. That either enables or disables the touch pad on the heater. Disabled leaves the touchpad enabled.

Give the heater a call for heat at the control (PSL4), then go to the heater and turn it on, run the thermostat to 104, close the cover and you're done. Of course, turn the heater back off from the PSL4 if you don't want the heater to run. Thats it!
