My pool has 2 skimmers that go down to a single line going into he Jandy Valve. Is it safe to block the flow of one of the skimmer inlets while having the manual vaccum hose in the other inlet? It seems I do not get really good suction on the vaccum if the other skimmer inlet is free flowing. Currently, I just close off the Main Drain at the Valve.

Shouldn't be a problem. I would probably use the skimmer closest to the equipment pad for the vacuum and close the other one that's further away

I do this when I vacuum. I do setup and connect the vacuum and hose to the nearest skimmer then I close the valve to the other skimmer so all the flow is through the vacuum. When done vacuuming or need to clean out the skimmer basket, I open the valve to the other skimmer to make it easier disconnect the vacuum hose. The pump runs the entire time.
