A few weeks back a tree came down and took out some of my plumbing along with my heater. The plumbing snapped off right where the PVC goes into the ground for the returns and pressure side cleaner.
Any idea if the underground PVC should be sound? The local pool company said the underground piping is likely ok because the earth would have stabilized it. Seems reasonable to me, but I was curious whether anyone here had thoughts on the matter.
Lastly, is the repair procedure simply to dig down to expose the good pipe, make a clean cut, then use a coupling to bring the pipe up above grade?
A photo of the carnage is attached.
