Manganese stains

Hello,

I had my pool resurfaced in 2/2017 with a pebble/glass in the mix. It was beautiful until June this year, suddenly dark spots appeared. You cant brush them off. They are scattered. I called the company that did the work. They sent someone out and he said its Maganese stains. They want to charge me $1500. to drain my pool and acid wash it. Everything I read says asorbic acid is the remedy... Help!!!!!!
