Hello, I found this forum while searching for ways to clean/address main drain clog.
Issue is that since we've purchased home, main drain has never worked. Inspection of drain shows lots of small gravel in it. Attached jacuzzi main drain works and the single pool skimmer works. In investigating skimmer, I've ran a camera in SINGLE hole and am not sure of what I'm looking at. Can someone help me identify? Pool was built in mid-80's. 1 photo is from top (under basket) the other is looking into single hole drain. thanks

If your skimmer has suction and it only has one port, then it would not be connected to the main drain. It's possible to main drain was taken out of commission due to leaks, or that it's not a main drain at all. Do you have any photos of the main drain?

Chris,

We need to see several pics of your equipment pad.

Before going to a lot of work to "fix" your main drain, keep in mind that you will never see any operational difference in how well your pool will work. There are thousands and thousands of pool without a working main drain, and most pool owners never even know it. They are just not needed.

Thanks,

Jim R.
