While I was pouring 8 ounces of Muriatic Acid in the pool while ago, I wondered who thought it would be a good idea to pour ACID in a vinyl lined pool. I still find it amazing that 8 ounces of anything can change the chemistry in 15000 gallons of water.

I don't guess that was a question, as much as an observation.............

Just goes to show you that that stuff is *strong*....and don't pour it on the liner, pour only in to the water without splashing.

I am always amazed when I look back at discussions to think of the groundbreaking concepts scientists discovered to allowed making pool care TFP as it is for us. It is amazing.

Actually.... pouring acid on a plastic generally doesn't do much of anything, but pouring acid onto concrete or plaster gets you all kinds of fizzing. You should be wondering who though that would be a good idea.
