M600, Marina, and warranties

When I bought my M500 a few years back, I remember hearing/reading that if you didn't buy from a listed Maytronics dealer, you got a 2-year warranty instead of a 3-year. Now that I'm back in the market for an M600, I don't see anything like that as far as I can tell. Is this still a concern? I couldn't find Marina on Maytronics' list of dealers. If it's 3 years regardless, then it doesn't matter. I had a few issues on my (first-year) M500 that got fixed in that 3rd year (under warranty)

Manufacturers change their minds seemingly all the time. Sometimes even on this one but not that one. Somebody might have recent knowledge here, but Margaret at Marina would know the most current dance when you call.

Why the M600 vs. say the S200 which is much cheaper and still cleans about the same..
