Lower salt levels - best way to approach it!

So, partially my fault....When I bought a salt water chlorinator they sent me a borate test kit, not salt … So I was testing borates and dumping and salt! Salt strips tell me I’m about 4200 ppm, but my RJ 60+ is telling me all over the place anywhere from 4600 to 3900. I’m guessing reducing by a bit would be helpful, to put me in the 3500 range. Will I lose salt with more swimming activity and sunshine and evaporation, or realistically should I be dropping the water levels by a few inches every day and filling up with water every night? It’s been a little chilly so we haven’t really had any swimmers in it until this weekend.

First get an accurate test kit the k-1766! Salt does not evaporate. You need to drain and refill to reduce salt. Where in Damascus are you I might be able to swing by with my salt test kit so you can get an accurate test.

My instant readings from cell are as follows:
19.7 volts
6.4 Amps
5000ppm Salinity now...which seems way high...but this number fluctuates down to 4200 most times (I just turned it on now)
4600ppm Salinity Average

Salt Strip tests have me around 4200 or so.

Here are regular levels:
------------------------------------------
Build Type: Vinyl
Volume: 26000 gallons
------------------------------------------
Latest Test Result Summary:
FC: 4.0 (41 seconds ago)
pH: 7.5 (41 seconds ago)
TA: 70 (41 seconds ago)
CH: 120 (41 seconds ago)
CYA: 70 (41 seconds ago)
SALT: 4200 (41 seconds ago)
===============================

High Salinity light came on for a few seconds when I fired up the heater, but went away after a few minutes.

Pool Math FTW!

We must have crossed steams while we posted :) I got an aquacheck kit for testing, seemed to be OK...but I think I'll have to get a k-1766 for sure. I might drain/refill a little tonight after the swimming dies down. Maybe a few inches in the next few days might do the trick. I'm the guy over off Log House Rd....I got everything replumbed and set up a few weeks ago just finally getting around to enjoying it all :) Gotta say...the SWG is amazing, and Pool Math is crazy accurate for run times/percentages for increasing FC.
