I got a used clearwater ii de filter. I cleaned everything before putting together. New pressure guage which shows 14 lbs without the de added. But there's very little out flow. I ran without the grids and had plenty of flow. Grids look clean. Any ideas?

One thought - If you don't know the history of those grids, it's possible someone did a premature acid bath on them before thoroughly cleaing them properly with TSP detergent. When that happens, it can fuse any oils and such to the grids. They may look clean, but may not allow water to flow through properly now.
I soaked the grids over night in tsp then put in acid bath. No change. I guess I have to get a new set ?.
Just updating this post so others don't make the same stupid mistake. For some reason this filter was designed so the grid assembly will just as easily fit in upside down.
