Low CYA levels! Confused about what to do...

Lots of rain here in Dallas so I assume this is contributing to the low CYA plus the heat.
So, I have some dichlor tabs leftover from before discovering Pool School last year. Can I put a tab in the dispenser and allow it to float around? I also have some CYA powder stabilizer. Would it be best to use that with the sock method? Also, can we swim after removing the sock or the dispenser or do I have to wait a full week?

FC 4
CYA <20
ALK 110
Ph 8.0 (too high)

The best way is to use the CYA powder in a sock. You can swim while it is dissolving. No issue with that. In fact give it a squeeze as you swim by it and it will dissolve faster.

The heat does not break down CYA. Water exchange is the only way to quickly change CYA levels.

In TX, I would suggest CYA of 50 for more FC stability.

Take care.

Thanks, can I add chlorine also or do I need to wait?

No need to wait. Add the chlorine you need to. Let it mix for 15 minutes or so before you swim.

Now the deep end is cloudy but my test don't read any CC. Last night FC 10.5, this morning FC 10.5, this evening FC 6. So what's going on? I started the sock method with 2 cups of CYA. I wanted to do it little by little.

Except for the cloudiness, FC loss sounds ok to me. You typically don't lose much or any FC overnight since chlorine is only consumed by organic matter in the pool or by sunlight. Lots of sun in Texas will burn chlorine during the day. Low CYA will also lead to a greater FC loss each day.
