Jay, the first thing we need is reputable test results, from a reputable test kit. Leslies doesn't cut it. Most pool stores are actually horrible at doing testing. Either they rush or don't know how to perform the test, squirt instead of drop the reagents in, and all sorts of reasons they fail. Or they're just looking to make a sale.
Go here--> www.tftestkits.net and order the TF-100 test kit. The XL kit is suggested if your problem is bad, but if you can't swing that just get the basic kit $70.

We'll need to know:
FC
CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA

All these results are necessary to help us pinpoint the problem.

How do you chlorinate your pool?
Are you on city or well water??
What chemicals have you added to the pool recently?
How does the water look? What does the algae look like??
