Lost!!! Pentair equipment and cant get any automation to work

4th summer with the pool- used a DIY pool install for a 10k inground salt pool - all pentair equipment. Got the name of a pool guy from a pool store, he was able to hook everything up to work, but couldn’t figure the pentair automation out, which i’d love to get working. I have to operate the pump, heat pump and lights manually. The app works, i can connect - “set things” but they don’t translate over to the equipment.

Where do i go from here? Is this something i can be coached through or do i need to find a qualified Pentair tech?

I need to see all the relays that are above the load center.. There should 4 or 8 of them...

I need you to drop the front panel of the EasyTouch down, and show me pics of the main card and the surge card that is mounted to the back wall of the EasyTouch.

What does the external timer do??? Should not really need one..

Do you have ScreenLogic on your PC or just your phone??

Which is the timer? Do you mean the lights control?

I just use screen logic on my phone via the app

That wire connected to nothing I traced back to the pump

Ok,

I see the following things that we need to address..

1. Your pump is wired to the Pump/Filter relay, which would be fine for a Single Speed pump, but VS pumps need to be connected to constant AC power.
2. The control cable for your pump is not connected to the J20 com port on the main card.
3. Your Salt cell Transformer must be wired to your Pump/Filter relay and it is not.
4. You have a relay with the word "Lights" below it, but nothing is connected to the relay.
5. Your heater is connected to the right place in the EasyTouch, but not sure about the other end.

What is the grey "SR Smith" box for???

I need one final thing before we start.. There are two transformers on the right side of your EasyTouch.. A small one at the top and a larger one at the bottom. The large one is for your salt cell.. I see the lights are on for the cell, but if you look at the warning label on the transformer, you will see that it must be connected to the pump filter relay. I need to know where it is currently connected. I need to know what color wires go where. If you can get that in a pic great, but there are a lot of wires in the way.. You need to look for four wires... Yellow, Black, Violet, and White wires.. I need to know where each wire goes. Some wires may be connected together. Note.. Do not confuse the wires on the bottom transformer with the small upper transformer. I only need the info on the bottom transformer.

Once I get that info, we can get your system up and running..
