Believe it or not I lost the paper that tells you how to do the test. I feel dumb because I sent them all last year. Is there somewhere on the site for me to download it? I'm looking for it but if somebody can get me there quicker I'd appreciate it thanks

Okay that subject line got really messed up so much for speech to text. It was supposed to say lost my sheet for doing the tests loo
I know I know you told me last year to ditch that method. My bad I forgot how to edit or delete a post or I would have done that how do you do that

If you see what it says under chlorine that's not the way I did it I did it with that powder

Thanks everyone! I am good now. But i am trying to find the proper thread to ask about ph meter instructions.
I know I lost everything. Coincidentally, the husband put the pool gear away last year. 🙄

I got a pH meter last year. Apparrently, the instructions went wherever my test directions did.
I want to calibrate it to start the year. There are instructions on the web but they all require buffering solutions, specifically pH 686@ 25C and pH 4.01 @25C.
Mine did not come with either of those. I am guessing that you do need the buffering solutions. Can i just get then online?

What model pH meter?

Show us a picture of it.

You can get standard solutions online. They typically are pH 4, 7 and 10.

You're not giving us much to go on but yes you'll need some buffer solution to calibrate it. Amazon will likely have what you need. If not look on Hanna Instruments website.

Hi everyone, please take a look at my poolmath logs. My levels are all messed up and I have no idea what to start correcting first. Also I'm in the process of adding notes for the testing results please take a look at them because sometimes the results well they were just some things that were sort of weird about them that I thought might be helpful to you.
The notes are added now so let me know your thoughts if you have time
Thanks!

You need more chlorine. Add at least 4ppm of liquid chlorine to the water. 1/2 gallon of 10% liquid chlorine will give you 4.2 ppm.

Your pH is high. Post pictures of your pH test with 4 drops and 5 drops.

TA is fine at 50.

CH is fine for fiberglass pools unless you have a gas heater or the pool manufacturer specifies otherwise. With a gas heater you should have at least 200 ppm of calcium.

CYA is fine.

CSI does not matter for you.

Until today, it looks like your last CH test from 7 months ago was 100. You reported CH of 80 today.
Your signature shows you have a gas heater. You need to increase your CH to at least 200.

TA of '45' gets rounded up to 50.

Your FC is way too low.
I'd suggest an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test - if you pass, increase your CYA in anticipation of increased temperatures and dose FC according to the FC/CYA Levels chart for a non-SWG pool.

What is your salt level?
What is your water temperature?
