I added stabilizer to the skimmer basket and then noticed my water level started to drop while the pool is running. It seem to get a little better over the next few days, but I waited like 72 hours and backwashed, then I really noticed the water level would drop. Any ideas would is appreciated.

So you learned the first TFP lesson - almost never pour anything down the skimmer. 
But it's odd that you are experiencing a water leak because of that.
A water restriction (clog) perhaps. You mentioned backwashing. Did you check your waste line to see if you're losing water to waste without knowing it?
