Losing water from Above Ground Pool

I am having the same issue. I closed my pool and 2 weeks later we lost 2 to 4 inches of water. Now we have lost more. I was told to take the cover off during the winter to save the pool structure and beams. Is this true? We definitely have a leak no doubt but do you keep it un covered through out the winter?

Pools actually don't need to be covered and it's solely owners preference. Some cover till the fall season passes so the foliage doesn't get into the water and then you can leave it open to the sky. The only thing you can do now is watch it and see where it stops dropping, hopefully it's not to low near the bottom. Keeping it covered will not let you monitor the level and also as the water level drops the cover can/will retain rain and snow which will destroy the pool walls from the unsupported weight.
