Looking to automate pool/spa combo. Pentar vs Jandy?

I I have a pool spa combo with a raypack heater, Hayward color changing led lights, and 2 pentair VS pumps. I would love to bring everything into one remote system with phone/app control. I see that both pentair and Jandy offer their own remote controllers. I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with either and could make a recommendation on either? Also I’m looking to add the wired/automatic actuators at some point in the future. Suggestions please?

I used to have the Jandy Aqualink and replaced it with a Pentair IntelliCenter. Get the IntelliCenter.

I doubt think either one will change the colors of Hayward lights. I think you will be able to control the Aquarite SWG with the IntelliCenter. Information on that is in the link below.

+1 Pentair Intellicenter.

It will control your pumps natively and that's your priority equipment.

The Raypack heater can be controlled via the fireman's switch. It's a binary method but it will work well enough.

The Hayward lights (are they colorlogic?) can be turned on using Pentair automation, but you're going to find yourself with unpredictable colors or programs. I'd replace the lights with Intellibrite color lights if you can.

As far as future actuators; Pentair offers the Intellivalve which will eventually feature unique control over positions. If you want to be future-proof, get those. If you will only ever use it to change between pool and spa, I'd suggest getting any basic actuator and call it good. Pentair, Jandy, Hayward and Intermatic all make good ones and they're universal in every way.
