Looking after a spa vs pool??

R,

I have a saltwater pool and a couple of years ago, I bought a used standalone Spa. The first thing I did was to add a SWCG.

Just like when I first got my pool, I was checking chemicals about once a minute.. :p

But, just like my pool, I got a "feel" for how the spa and chemicals work. Now, I check once a week and often less than that.

So, for me anyway, I find that the spa and the pool chemical maintenance is about the same. The major pain with the Spa is having to drain every three or four months and starting over.

I have a small 200 gallon spa, and just use the Saltron mini SWCG...

Thanks,

Jim R.

I would agree with JZA, who has helped me a ton with the start up of my hot tub.
The biggest thing being #3. My manual told me to add 9lb of salt, which overran my sailinity to 3200 when I was aiming for 2400.
Im two weeks in and still trying to figure out a regular cadence.
