Lo-T setting

"SPA (Hi-T) or POOL (LO-T) : Displays when the Spa/HI-T or Pool/LO-T button is pressed to rotate valve actuators and activate the filter pump and heater. This line on the screen is blank when no spa or pool function is active.

Note: Depending on the configuration of the PL4/PLS4 Control System, the screen displays SPA (shared equipment - EasyTouch PSL4 Control System), HI-T (single body of water - EasyTouch PL4 Control System), POOL (shared equipment), LO-T (single body of water system)."

Indoor control panel.

"Hi-Temp/Lo-Temp Controls for Single Body System For an EasyTouch PL4 Control System single body system, you have the option to control your pool and spa temperature settings using the Valves (V) button or the Spa (Hi-Temp) and Pool (Lo-Temp) button on the
optional Indoor Control Panel.

Change the circuit name SPA to HI-TEMP and POOL to LO-TEMP so that the display shows the correct temperature controls for your single body system."

I believe it is called the easytouch 8. Here is my issue. I am trying to open my pool and can't seem to be able to get the valves to turn on. I have a spa and it was open all winter and isolated from the pool. I have turned off the freeze protection mode (i believe I did this in the circuit portion of the menu).

On the main menu screen instead of saying "pool" it says Lo-T. Usually after they open my pool the Lo-t changes to say "Pool".

Thanks for the help and I hope this makes sense.

Change the circuit name to Pool and then create a circuit named Spa.

You're going to have to go through the programming and recheck everything.

Pentair programming is somewhat complicated and confusing.

You're going to have to get the installation and operation manual and go through the setup to make sure that the programming is correct.

I appreciate you guys helping out. I downloaded what I think it’s the newest version of ScreenLogic. I took some screenshots. I could not find the circuit section on the new app.

E,

What stands out to me is that the system seems to be in the Service mode.. Why is it in the Service mode?

The Service mode takes all the automation out of action.

Also... You don't have low temp, someone has just named the Pool mode Low temp..

Thanks,

Jim R.

E,

What does ScreenLogic say under the "Delays and Alerts" tab??

Every place I would expect it to show "Pool" it shows "Low Temp"

If this were my system, I would go outside to the main panel and push the "Reset" button. This will not erase any programming, it is just like rebooting your PC.. It might not help, but it can't hurt.

I also notice that you are not in either the Pool (Low temp) or Spa mode as neither is green. I would also, click on the Low Temp (pool) icon and see what happens..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Changing the name from Pool to Lo-Temp or Spa to High-Temp designates the system as a single body of water instead of a dual body with shared equipment.

This changes the logic (for example, freeze protection and switching from Spa to Pool).

Changing the name from Lo-Temp back to Pool designates the system as dual body with shared equipment and the valves for Pool and Spa should work again.

E,

Just go into your set up pages.. Find the one that says Main Pool.. Scroll down and change the Circuit name from "Low Temp" to "Pool"

I'm glad JamesW was able to figure this one out..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you so much. That seemed to allow me to control the pump and it now is switched from Lo-T to Pool. I am trying to drain a little bit of water from the main drain so we can repaint the pool and the valves still do not turn. They won't turn even if I move the manual switch in the back of the actuator. I really do appreciate all of the help!

E,

I would drop the panel down on the main box and make sure the guys that closed your pool did not disconnect the valve wires from the main board.

If the valves will not turn with the little switch on the actuator that means the EasyTouch is not supplying the 24 volts the valves need.

I guess they could have also pulled the valve handles up and put them in the manual mode.

Here is a pic of the back of the board..

You can see where the valves plugs into the Intake, Return, and valve A and B connections.

Also make sure that none of the circuit breakers in the top right of the panel are not popped.

Thanks,

Jim R.

J, I found the culprit. I didn’t know there was a panel behind where all the buttons are. I took a picture of it and it looks like everything is unplugged for the most part. Can I plug those in at any of those locations or are they specific?
