Liquidator Question

Hopefully I got the correct forum here, let me know if not and I'll re-post....
So I've been using the Liquidator for many years and it's worked pretty well - it definitely takes maintenance and keeping an eye on things, but it's better than manually dosing on a daily basis. Does anyone else have a better solution that I'm likely not aware of? Also, does anyone have the new style of Liquidator and have you had any issues with it? I'll save that for another post but I'd love to connect with you if you do/have.
But my real question is... each night when the pump shuts off some water drains out of my Liquidator - just a few inches, but enough to make it suck air if the out-going float happens to stick in the open position. The question is why is my plumbing sucking some water out of the Liquidator - when the pump shuts down is it normal for there to be some kind of back pressure that causes this, maybe the plumbing lines normalize or something that causes this? I'm not aware of any leaks I have, in case that would be a cause.
Thank you thank you for your help!

Get a SWCG.

I used to have a Liquidator at my previous pool and have a SWCG at my current pool. Once you have a SWCG, you'll never look back. In fact, you'll regret not having done it sooner.

Get a SWCG much easier and very effective there are thousands who have switched and are very 😊 happy
Any questions on salt systems can easily be found on TFP 😎

Why is that? I don't really know anything about SWCGs, I'll look into it. My main concern is ease of maintenance because we're gone from the house quite a bit, can you go 1-2 weeks without worrying about the FC level?

Why is that?
It's by far the cheapest, easiest, and most convenient way to chlorinate.

My main concern is ease of maintenance
If you maintain a CSI of zero to -0.3 the cells are practically maintenance free. They are consumables though. I expect my cell to last ~8 years before needing replacement (which takes about three minutes).

If you're often away from home, a SWCG would be perfect for you. You can go for weeks and not really worry about your FC while you're away.

While a SWG is the best option, what you have is a leaking suction valve that, at the very least needs the "salt" cleaned off the rubber sealing pad and most likely needs replacing.
The Liquidator used to have a lifetime warranty on those parts, and I found that they always honored it. Usually they would send both valves and new tubing, etc. Don't know about their policy now, but asking couldn't hurt.
The new one is the same product in a fancy enclosure, basically.

If this is a major concern, SWG is definitely the way to go. I work on everyone else’s broken junk all day and when I get home I don’t feel like playing pool guy anymore. I’m lucky to check my FC and PH once a month (yes I’m a slacker). With a SWG and the acid injection system I’ve installed, when I do check, the chemistry is in line and perfect as it should be. A SWG is nearly hands off, so yeah….you’ll be fine.
