Liquid CYA?

Hi,

I've been using the sock method to get CYA into my pool each year. It takes forever for the granuals to break down even with frequent squeezing. Is there a liquid option for CYA that is acceptable (ie doesn't add anything else)?

The liquid (often times called conditioner) is fine to use. Just costs more. Certainly up to you.

It takes a REALLY long time for the sock filled CYA to disolve into my pool. I have to squeeze it very often and it still takes days. I think the extra expense is worth it to me to pour it in and be done, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a chemical reason I shouldn't use it (extra additives). Thanks!

Use a skimmer sock, not a real sock. 1 lb increments, 1 lb is gone in 3 hrs from the beating of the jet. Just put it so it’s directly in the path of the returning water.
