Liner repair for unground pool

We have a pool liner that is 10 years old (our second liner) and trying not to spend the$$ on yet another. The problem is that it has ripped just below where the clip is and has a gaping hole about 8" horizontally. There was exactly the same problem with the first liner, so evidently its a weak area or they just don't secure it properly. ANYWAY, can this be patched? If so what would you recommend as a repair kit? There are so many out there. Thanks in advance

Post some pics. If it's too close to the liner bead, it can't be patched. If it is just out of the track it can be shoved back in. If it's a tear with enough room for the meat of a patch to hold, then it can be patched. Anyway a pic will tell us 1000 words. :)
