Well, we're knee deep into the new pool vinyl liner decision. I now believe other posters that have said of the multitude of decisions of a new build, this one was the most nerve wracking. We're still narrowing down color choices.....we've been pouring over the existing liner threads. The PB giving us a sample book with WAY too many choices didn't make it any easier!

My question at this point is about the printed waterline border. Our previous pool had a printed border and truth be told, I always thought it looked just a bit cheezy. Most borders look beautiful and really add to the overall look, while others, not so much. PB said that most all liners can be had without any border and we are considering possibly going that route. Our pool design has a lot of rock work, waterfalls, fractured face coping, etc, and I'm a little concerned a border may hinder the natural look we're going for, or make everything a little too 'busy'.

Other than aesthetics, does the printed border serve any other purpose? PB said in some cases, a border will help hide a water line (bugs, pollen, etc.) on lighter liners. I didn't have that problem with the old pool so I'm not too concerned with that.

Any opinions out there? Am I overthinking this? Has anyone that has chosen to go "topless" with their liner have any regrets?

As always....thanks.

I had a very tough time deciding on a border as well.

I'm happy with the one I got though. It's a pattern of large Diamonds with much smaller Diamonds
in between.

One big factor in my decision was finding a border that would also work as a water line indicator
when it's time to top up from evaporation.

On mine, when the water exposes the tip of the mini Diamonds, I know I need to get a hose
and top up.
