I have some significant fading in my pool, but I've figured out that its where people stand/walk/play. The walls and the deep end are fine and show no problem. There is one patch on the side of the pool in the deep end which I initially thought was a result of a chlorine spill or something from the previous owners. In addition, the shallow end, especially where we have some steps setup for my grandson, shows some fading, which is obvious when you look closely.
At first, I thought it was primarily sun/chlorine, but if it was sun/chlorine induced, you would expect the walls and deep end to show the same issue, and they don't. They may not be as saturated as day one, but they are consistent at least.
The random side patch was near the Tiki Bar, and when we came across a photo of the previous owners showing 3 or 4 people hanging on the side of the pool chatting to people in the tiki-bar exactly where the patch on the liner is, we realized that the mark was more likely simple wear from use. This would track with our usage, where we don't typically hang in that spot (and the patch hasn't got any worse), but our grandson and his freinds play in the shallow end all the time, resulting in more wear in that area (and their little legs don't reach to the bottom of the deep end).
I don't know the exact age of our liner, has to be at least 5 years...
Guess where the pool slope to the deep end starts
