I just started taking down my old liner, and was surprised to find foam insulation board underneath. Should I leave that or take it up? All of the videos I have watched showed a sand bottom. Pool is 21' round, above ground.

Leave them! A lot of people pay good money for them. They are soft on the feet and help keep the bottom smooth!
Thank you, we are leaving them. The plan is to use sand to even out a few places where it feels like there was erosion under the pool.
