Thank you so much for creating this site and opening it to everyone, supporter or not. I have had a pool for several years and it has always been a total shot in the dark how to maintain it. A trip to the pool store always left me confused and with less money than I came with. I have already benefited from reading just a few of the posts.
I have a SWCG and can't seem to get the stabilizer up to the recommended 60ppm or the TA down to 100. I have put a gallon and a half of muratic acid in over the past three weeks and a chemical that was to increase the stabilizer. The pool store expert, aka a young boy working there for the summer, said everything was in the right range, TA of 170 and stabilizer of 30.
Even the testing strips I have say the TA is too high.
Any recommendations? I just purchased the Taylor testing kit and worked through the tests. TA was 170 and stabilizer was 45. I want to get some strips for quicker testing but not sure which to purchase for reliable results.
I appreciate your guidance.
