Did you ever find out what was wrong with your filter. We just purchased our pool and someone gave us a sand filter and we know nothing about pools turned it on today and it’s spraying at the top like you described and the hose seems like it’s got a lot of pressure and the jet is spraying dirty chunks into the pool

Looks like your question was moved to your own thread, so let's start fresh. Please update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info. See mine as an example. Also post a pic or two of the filter and problem area you are speaking about. We'll see if we can give you some repair tips.
