We have had a pool leak for about 2 years. 15 months after our gunite pool was installed we had a chlorinator installed and a vent out in our heater to go outside the pool house. This was done in October of 22. That winter we noticed the water level dropping significantly. We continued to put water in it through a hose as it was winter. We thought maybe it was just the cold weather. We went forward with normal pool activity in the spring and turned the autofill on. We noticed that the system always had air in it and it was super hard to prime. The heater would stop working etc.
in October of 23 we had leak detection services out and they could not find any leaks in the plumbing. We then let the water continue to leak to see if it would stop and possibly find a crack in the plaster.
Since then we plugged the bottom drains and autofill line, the pool still leaked. We plugged all lines and it leaked. With the pump on or off. We literally did every thing possible to find the leak. Then in June of this year, we noticed a small crack in the pump lid, we bought a new lid and just like that the system had pressure and primed like it’s supposed to. The heater had no issues, we unplugged all drains (only bottom were still plugged) we went 3 weeks with no water loss, zero! We thought we don’t know how but it’s fixed and all it took was a pump lid. We then turned the auto fill back on and everything seemed to be working great. Treating the pool was normal, where before because of all the new fresh water all the time it was hard to keep the chemicals correct.
2 months later it’s back to leaking, we are baffled. When the bottom drains were plugged initially they did the dye test and swam looking for any kind of crack, nothing could be found.
We are at a loss, our pool is only 3 years old. The only thing we did over the summer is back flush a few times, could it be something in the filter? We also can’t find where the water is going.
Looking for a miracle!

Here are pictures. Don’t have many close up of the pool. The pool is 20x45IMG_2392.jpeg
