Hi everyone,
So I noticed the last few days I am having to top up the pool quite frequently. I first assumed it was because of the sunshine We’ve been getting lately and the fact that the pool heater is on. But even when we had high temperatures last year I never had to fill up this frequently so I started investigating based on a hunch that there was a leak somewhere. After leaving the pool pump on For over 24 hours, I Noticed The decking near the pool pump/filter was soaked. Yet when I physically felt for all the exposed pipes and connections and joints everything was dry. The part of the decking that is wet on the ground is the part that is under the pool pump, the sand filter housing and the pool heater so I am thinking the leak is coming from one of these three. All this time the filter was set to filtration. Now I have set it to recirculate, maybe naïvely assuming that this would help to exclude if the leak is coming from the sand filter housing itself?

What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So with the pump off no puddle but when it’s on whether in filtration or recirculating there is a puddle. This is after the pump was on for 36 mins

N,

Logically, the first thing to check is that none of the pipes have any water on the bottom side.. I assume you have done that.

Thanks kind of leaves a crack in the bottom of the filter or maybe an issue with what I assume is a heater at the top of your pic.

Let's see if one of your other member can spot something.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I think the leak is coming from a damaged seal within the pump. It’s not the filter housing or the heater.

Trouble is engineers here don’t want to repair it they want to replace it. A pump will cost around £700 but they want £200 just for a visit.
