We are new home/pool owners. We have a Pentair model WF-28. When I run the pump, it has a small bit of water that pools when it's running. I didn't think much of it but now I'm wondering if we need to have it serviced or try to fix it ourselves. Is there a part (like a gasket) that we could easily change?

If the leak is seeping between the pump basket (wet end) and the motor (dry end), it may be the seal plate gasket. Not the most difficult thing to replace. That's where I would probably start. You can see it on the link below (item #9).

Thank you! Yes, I definitely think that's where the leak is. On the diagram, there are 3 parts that are labeled with number 9. Do you think I should go ahead and order all of them or just the seal plate gasket?

You should only need one. But because I don't work with those everyday, I would give the good folks over at InyoPools a quick call. Have your pump make/model number handy and let them double-check their records for that item. They may also have other tips for you as well. Hope that helps and you get that leak resolved quickly.
