Leak from light conduit. (Junction box is 12” higher)

You can probably leave the pool lights on this junction box and just replace the spa light if there is not enough line slack to extend the spa cord to a higher junction box.

One problem will be how to extend just the spa conduit without disturbing the existing junction box.

How many pool lights, spa lights and transformers?

You might be able to drain the spa below the light and vacuum all of the water out of the conduit and then put sealant in the conduit at the junction box side to prevent water coming out.

This might not be acceptable to local code, so verify with an electrician to make sure that it is acceptable.

Just plan to relocate the spa junction box when the light needs to be replaced.

Maybe dig up the conduit and move the spa junction box higher and closer to the spa on the front wall to give additional slack.

That’s crossed my mind, honestly.
Was thinking of either adding one of those rubber plugs at the junction box end of the conduit. In addition to some sealant.

What still baffles me is why this is just now showing up. I work near this equipment every week when I do my weekly pool maintenance and have never noticed it before. I initially thought it had only been going on for a few days. But it might have been a week or two.

We have had some hard freezes a few months back and that area would have frozen I would assume if it had been leaking.

But why is it just now showing the flaw in junction box Heigh placement? The pool is almost 3 years old.

The installation manual says that the junction box needs to be at a specific level relative to the water.

So, you should probably just accept that it needs to be done and get it done right.

Maybe it is right at the level of the spa spillover and it leaks most when the Spillover mode is on.

The gasket on the light probably minimized the amount of water leaking.

As you indicated, the light was loose and that would allow more water to leak.

In any case, it's not safe to have water and electricity in the same box.

See if the builder will take care of it.

If not, you will have to either do it yourself or find someone who can do it correctly.
