I have a leak. It is on the suction side of my sand filter. It appears to be leaking around the threads. Last year I stored it in my basement. I have disconnected the pipe and switched the connection and it still is leaking in the same spot. The gasket looks fine. I'm not sure if I missed something simple. Any thoughts?

Is it a union fitting with an o-ring seal? The threads have nothing to do with the water seal. They just hold the parts together. Might just need to make sure things are well aligned and tighten the nut a little more.

So that is the suction connection to the pump. I would not expect water to be dripping out of that when the pump is on, more likely that air would be sucked into the pump. Hopefully the other seal works.
