Lazy-L Pool cover

I'm researching pool covers and wondering if I could get away with using 2 rectangular pool covers instead of buying a custom cover for my lazy-L vinyl pool. Pool size is 16 x 38.

Winter covers or solar covers?

Winter cover. I'm on the fence trying to decide if it's even needed in Atlanta GA.

A winter cover needs to be secured. I am not sure how you would secure two of them that overlap.

I would think you could leave the pool open all winter (and maintained) with a surface winterization plan for ultra cold snaps.
