Las Vegas - Pool, Spa & Sunken Kitchen | We have water!

Can you table the unfinished work for now, being credited for any unused materials and labor that wasn't performed? After the build you wouldn't be stuck with whoever the builder uses and would be free to shop around. I like things being completeted as much as the next dude, but for $8600 I'd be OK letting this one take a bit longer. Especially as it's irrelevant to the pool being completed.
I’m looking at this as a potential option.

I’ve looked and I can’t seem to find any, but is there a gray pool fitting for the microbrite lights or only white? We are going with a darker pebble and I feel like the gray would match better.

The ledge was sprayed Monday this week. I feel it looks and feels MUCH better. Glad I noticed it wasn’t there and had the PB add it.

However, we ran into a problem with the PB. They didn’t order all the material when the bond beam tile was installed months ago, and now it it’s been discontinued. Been going back and forth with them for solutions. The same tile is to be used on the walls of the sunken kitchen and media wall. The bond beam isn’t quite finished on the sides either. 🤦‍♂️

Fire pit hasn’t been resolved yet either. Hopefully we see some activity this week. It’s been at a standstill for a few weeks.

My pool is all closed up, but found a pic early in the construction before the lights went in. A big mess going on here, but the PB did use grey fittings for the microbrites....

Well… the kitchen area is finally moving along! The floors and walls are finished.

After much debate and back and forth we decided to tile the counters vs granite or porcelain slabs. The economics just didn’t add up and make sense. The bar top has been completed and the rest should be started this week.

The entire kitchen was delivered today… well almost. The sink/beverage center has been on back order since October when we purchased everything and Lynx is saying end of April. Hopefully it doesn’t take that long!

Speakers for the media wall showed up a few days ago and we picked up a 70” TV as well.

Just need to get all this installed!

It really should be granite…that said, I’d epoxy grout the tile. The wet / dry / wet cycles is what kills it, plus the lack of proper waterproofing. E.g look at spa tiles + efflorescence after a few years.

PS. Ignore this post, just looked back at the pics and the tile is already grouted….it’s all those Lynx appliances that doesn’t make “economic” sense! 😝 When they install the shade structure, extend it over the bar…gonna need shade.

Granite to us, is just too out dated and the colors of the stone would never work for the look we are trying to achieve.

Approx quotes I got for porcelain slabs was roughly $12-14k and if I went Dekton it would have been nearly $18k-20k. Hard pill to swallow for counters.

We ended up doing 1/16” grout to reduce the size and so far it looks good in person.

The wife encouraged the upgrade to Lynx! I had a different brand selected and she said I wouldn’t been happy cooking on that, so she said get the Lynx setup.

My wife and I had another passionate conversation with our PB today. He asked us to stay out of his way and allow him to finish the project. He said by May 1st we’d have water in the pool. I told him if he is so confident and guarantees it, then I’ll stop the constant calls to him and his employees if he’s willing to put up $1000 for each day past May 1st we don’t have water in the pool and he agreed.

I’m sending him an email to have it in writing and now we’ll be patiently waiting.

Time will tell…

More progress!

-Covered patio, landscaping nearly completed, lighting finished, and fire pit done!

We also picked out the pebble finish today and the PB is trying to schedule it for this weekend! Radiant Fusion Indigo Crush - which is a Tahoe pigment. Wooooooo!

We did run into one snag, the media wall, but that will be completed a little later, but at this point, if we can get water in the pool by next week I’ll be a happy camper.

OP, that is a wonderful pool and outdoor kitchen. Mind if I ask how wide your tiled bar counter is? Seems like you managed to get four seats in the pool in that space with seemingly enough room around them. What is the spacing center-on-center of your bar seats?

Bar top is 138” wide, total width of pool is 171”, bar stool center on center is 36”.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
