Spa tile was just delivered. I didn’t want to wait to see what it was going to look like, so I laid a few sheets on the spa. LOOKS GREAT!

Spa tile was completed yesterday! The guys also did the trim pieces on the steps.

Everything turned out great. Can’t wait to see what it looks like with water and from different lighting perspectives.

I just noticed this, but should the spa tile go all the way to the floor? There’s a gap the entire way around the spa.

Where's your waterline going to be? As long as it will be several inches up the tile, it is fine where it is.

--Jeff
There’s about 3 or so inches to the middle of the waterline tile.

Looks like they made the bottom of the spa tile essentially the same as the bottom of the waterline tile. I think that looks good. They will run plaster up to the bottom edge of the tile. That will look good.

Worked picked back up right after Christmas. Happy to see the PB dates they communicate are reality. They cleaned up and started grading the backyard. Pavers that were in the back were removed (some were saved to repair damage in to the pavers in the front of house), and new porcelain pavers and coping were delivered! We ended up on going with two different pavers, a neutral one for the majority of the deck and a brown wood style for the raised fire pit and sunken kitchen.

Hoping to see the coping work start tomorrow!

Annnnnndddd just like that we hit a wall. Yesterday the PB was out talking with the decking trade and there are a few large issues.

1) The stairs in the kitchen weren’t done correctly and the sides of the kitchen by the stairs were rebar’d and shot at an angle vs being completely square. So now they need to demo the stairs and the side of the kitchen to square everything up.

2) The PB doesn’t like the way the spa tile was installed and in his opinion the water won’t flow smoothly over the edges and the overall finish ia not very good. They are going to rip out all the spa tile and reinstall it.

They were supposed to be back today but no one showed up, assuming because of the holiday. Most likely will see some work continue next week.

@Brian420 How did your builder figure out that water is not going to flow evenly over spa .. did he use any levelling device . Glad he is so involved and willing to rectify it ..
