Hello,
I have read through a number of posts on how to do this. However, do anyone have any photos to share on how to connect the lighting transformer into the Pentiar? I have one open spot and would like to use it for landscape lighting. I believe if I can see some pics I could do it.

Thank you!!

Dave

Welcome to TFP.

Let's try it the other way. Post pics of the insides of your IntelliTouch showing the wiring.

Are you going to connect the transformer to an existing 120V CB or install a new one?

Where is the transformer located? Do you have the hot, neutral, and ground wires run from the transformer into the ET cabinet?

I haven't yet purchased the transformer yet. I am hoping to understand if I can do it before I do.

I would install the transformer right below the cabinet.

Really, looking for the easiest way to get it done.

Really appreciate the help!!!! Thank you! Pics attached.

It looks like all of your high voltage relays are being used. The relay to the left is the main pump relay. What are the other 4 relays wired for?

You have no CB's in the panel and nothing is labeled so I can't tell what is wired to what.

Also in the future please post higher resolution pictures so we can see more detail.

See how these photos look, hopefully better.
V= Valves, F= Pump, 1= Air Blower 2= Pool Lights 3 = Spa Lights 4= OPEN
When looking at the photo, all the way to the right is open.
Again, any help would be GREAT!

Ok, now I can see that black and yellow wire go behind the right relay.

Where are your CBs?

Can the CB used for your pool and spa light support the amps for the landscape lights? How many amps do each draw?

27,

I know it sounds like we are giving you the run around, but your system is wired differently than most. Most automation systems bring in 240 volts to the load center, then through several circuit breakers, and then to the load side of various relays.

It does not look to me like your load center is being used at all...

How about another pic showing the load center...

Assuming this system has been working and now you just want to install landscape lights, you will need to wire into an existing 120 volt circuit and jumper that voltage over to the line side of your Aux 4 relay. The load side of the Aux 4 relay would then provide power to the Landscape lighting transformer.. I assume you plan on a low voltage LED style landscape lighting system..

You have an odd set up.

The three tiny circuit breakers are for the IntelliTouch low voltage circuits and have nothing to do with the high voltage (240 or 120 VAC) that run the pump, blower, etc...

Thanks,

Jim R.

They are located upper right. 3 of them with 3amp.

No, those are CBs for your low voltage actuators.

We are talking about your 120V and 240V CBs for your pump, air blower, and lights.

So you have a 20A 120V (non-GFCI) CB feeding your pool/spa lights.

You need to determine the following:

- what will be the amp load for your landscape lights?
- what is the amp load for your pool lights?
- can you connect the landscape lights to the existing CB if both loads total less then 16 amps?
- or you can install a new 20A CB dedicated to the landscape lights. Then you need to run a new conduit and 12 awg wire to the ET panel or pull the wire through an existing conduit
- then as Jim said you connect the 120V hot line to the line side of the relay
- you connect the light transformer black wire to the load side of the relay
- you connect the neutral white from the transformer to the neutral bus
- you connect the ground green from the transformer to the ground bus

That is all it takes.

I do this with my Aqualink. I grabbed an unused "extra aux" port and relay from my system (renamed to "Garden Light"). I wired this in so I could control on/off of a 110 volt outlet that is in my pool area. I added this relay into my dusk/dawn scheduler for outlet control although I can turn it on manually and also add it to the regular system scheduler.

So instead of wiring up my low voltage landscape light transformer directly to my pool control system, I simple control a 110 volt outlet which accomplishes the same thing.
