Keep Getting Algae

It's either perfectly timed coincidence or the UV had already faded it and you noticed once you paid more attention. We have had thousands and thousands perform SLAM at 40% of their CYA without issue. We have also had thousands perform mustard algae SLAMs at 60% of their CYA without issue, and again, both are less harsh than tap water due to the CYA buffering the HOCL.

Or there is algae hiding in plain sight that was missed with a previous SLAM. Ladder rails, light niches, skimmer foam, auto fills, etc could be reintroducing old algae and the SWG is keeping it mostly at bay.

I just wanted to +1 this comment from Newdude. If you have lights, take them out and clean behind them. If you have ladders, remove them and clean out the tubes.
