Just replaced pool light, question about the conduit...

All went well with the replacement. It was easy and everything works just fine. My question is about sealing the conduit.

About 4 years ago I had a leak in the pool. It took me a little while to find the sources. They were a handful of small holes in the liner. (Long story as to how they got there) They've been patched and Ive had no leak problems since then. But one of my troubleshooting measures was to seal around the light cord by packing pool puddy around the cord at the conduit hole. Turns out that wasnt the actual issue.

The pool puddy crumbled away pretty easily today when I lulled the cord out of the conduit so Im not even sure that it was still holding a seal.
My pool is very old...Id say at least 20 years old. We've lived hear for 17 years and it was previously installed....Would it be wise to reseal around the cord at the conduit or am I being too cautious and overly paranoid?

Properly installed conduit for pool lights is intended to be flooded.

Dan hit the nail on the head, the conduit will be flooded. This is why the elevation of junction boxes is so important.

Yes I know ...but I edited my post and added the age of the pool. This pool is over 20 years old...ground shifts, tree roots, freezing? A few things could have cracked it. LOL
There's not a lot of conduit..maybe 10 feet.
Here's a pic of the relationship of where the junction box is to the light.

There are rubber plugs available too. They slip over the wire and push into the conduit hole.

Going to go see if my local pool store has any of those. The peace of mind would be nice and that would be great if I didn't have to mess with the pool puddy

I changed the light yesterday at around 4pm. I marked the water level right after. I checked this morning and the water level has dropped a 1/4 inch overnight. Its been hot and windy but that seems excessive. Coincidence?... or probably a leak in that conduit? I probably ought to pool puddy it. Im not sure those stoppers are going to work. There's barely any clearance for that wire. Not sure how the stopper will fit?

I went ahead and did the pool puddy. It was easy enough. I did a bucket test for good measure. All is well, just hot and windy.
