Our pool had plaster (wet edge) done this weekend and just finished filling a few hours ago before I went to bed. The pool construction company is supposed to come out tomorrow to turn on the pump and filtration system so we can start brushing the plaster. Well I woke up just now to terrible thunderstorms and it looks like they are forecasted for several days. What happens if they delay turning on our system? The water is totally untreated and unmoving right now (just filled with hose water and no pump on). Do they need to get it moving right away? When should they add pool chemicals?

I don’t know what they will say but trying to educate myself if there’s anything I need to do right now :/

Welcome to TFP! Everything should be fine. Most important is that the plaster is filled fully and continuously so that there are no visible waterlines. New plaster has to go about 3 days before receiving any of its chemicals anyways, so you have time. We're not in the crazy TX summer heat yet so that helps. I'm sure they will arrive, perform their initial start-up, then give you some basic pointers of what to do next.

You need to be sure to use your TF-100 or Taylor K-2006C test kit to maintain accurate numbers. That is extremely important. I would also recommend taking good notes of what they add to the water so you can track everything in the PoolMath APP. Don't forget to update your signature.

Thank you so much! 🙏🏻 That makes me feel a lot better 😊
